Thesis Abstract

Executive Summary

The Health and Couseling Services Building, located on The Pennsylvania State University main campus, is 63,318 square feet. The project is being constructed to offset the growing needs and population of the University Park campus. Whiting- Turner Contracting Company is the construction manager on a CM at risk delivery system. The construction cost of the project is approximately $17.1 million dollars and the total project cost is $24 million dollars. Construction began October 2006 and will be substantially completed by May 2008 with a building occupancy date of July 2008.

The building will utilize a steel frame system with non- load bearing brick veneer and glass curtain walls. The structure will be LEED rated with a green roof incorporated into the design.
