Executive Summary

The project is an 181,890 sq ft laboratory, classroom and office building located on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA. The site is located between Pollock and Curtain Roads off of Shortledge Avenue near central campus. The building will be comprised 5 occupiable stories including a basement and mechanical penthouse. The facility will be used jointly by The Pennsylvania State University Chemistry Department. The building will consist of 135 offices, 82 laboratories. Additional rooms will be provided in designated areas such as utility rooms, equipment rooms and instrument rooms. An atrium space will connect the Chemistry Building to the Life Sciences Building. The building reached Substantial completion of its last phase on December 28, 2003. The building was not occupied until the fall semester of 2004.
