Christopher Shelow (Bio)

Christopher attended high school at Huntingdon Area High School in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from high school, he elected to pursue a degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structural design from The Pennsylvania State University at University Park. Christopher is now in his 9th semester in the 5 year ABET accredited AE program. He has recently been accepted into the integrated MAE/BAE and is planning on graduating from Penn State in December 2006 with both, a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Architectural Engineering. Christopher has also recently passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in October of 2004, and upon receiving his degrees, will be considered an Engineer in Training.

Through his education from coursework, as well as job experience, Christopher has developed a comprehensive understanding of engineering principals and structural design with concrete, steel, and timber. He has also gained valuable computer training in a number of design and drafting software packages. Christopher has had the opportunity to gain and practice knowledge in the structural design field through engineering internship positions with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Penn State University Office of Physical Plant, and Gillespie Engineering Inc. He is currently an active member of the Student Society of Architectural Engineers (SSAE), Structural Engineers Association (SEA), and the AISC student chapter.
