Description.

Structural Concepts/ Structural Existing Conditions Report
Executive Summary

Structural concepts is a detailed look at the structural system of Lexington II. In this report the structural system of Lexington II is examined, as are the loadings it was designed to withstand. The report concludes with spot checks on certin members to verify their design integrity.

Pro-Con Structural Study of Alternative Floor Systems
Executive Summary

Pro-con is a detailed investigation into possible alternative gravity load systems to be used in Lexington II. 5 structural systems are designed for a typical residential level of Lexington II and compared with the existing system. Criteria looked at for each system includes floor sandwich depth, weight, fireproofing, and vibration considerations.

Lateral System Analysis and Confirmation Design
Executive Summary

Appendix

Lateral System Analysis and Confirmation Design is a detailed investigation into lateral loads and lateral force resisting systems of Lexington II. Detailed calculations of wind and seismic lateral loads are preformed and then used to determine the critical loading case as outlined in ASCE7-02. A combination of ETABS non-linear analysis software and hand calcuations check the lateral system of Lexington II and its ability to resist shear, torsion, drift, and overturning.
