Nicole's Bio

Nicole is a fifth year Architectural Engineering student at Pennsylvania State University in the structural option. Having a family that mainly works in the construction business, Nicole has been exposed to the industry her whole life. The decision to be an Architectural Engineer was made early on in life and was a simple choice for Nicole. In addition to helping her father with his electrical contracting business, Nicole has had three summers of internship experience as well as the opportunity to be a freelance CAD drafter in her spare time. The first internship was for Norwood Construction Company in West Chester, PA where Nicole learned about the general contracting side of the construction industry. For the 2004 and 2005 year summers, Nicole worked for the structural engineering firm DiGenova Associates in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania and gained valuable knowledge in her chosen option. She chose to share her experience and advice with first year students in Architectural Engineering by becoming a Minority Engineering Mentor. Nicole looks forward to working with the structural aspects of future building projects and feels well prepared because of her experience in both the classroom and the field.
