Thesis Research

Below I have compiled any published resources or design programs I have utilized while performing any work associated with my Senior Thesis Project:

Lighting

IESNA Lighting Handbook: Reference and Application
The IESNA Lighting Handbook was a crucial tool when formulating my design goals, design criteria, and proper light levels and illuminance ratios.

     AGI32
AGI32 was the lighting calculation and rendering tool I used while performing my lighting analyses of both existing and proposed designs.

Electrical

     2002 National Electric Code
The NEC was very helpful in guiding me through my electrical designs. Hospitals have quite extensive and closely regulated electrical distribution systems and Article 517 of the NEC was a valuable tool that assisted me in designing my system to obey the code.

     Electrical Systems in Buildings
This educational reference book assisted many of my schematic design ideas and helped ensure I was theoretically designing my system so that it would function properly.

     Square D Digest
The Square D Catalog helped me accurately price many of the electrical system components while I was analyzing the cost impact of my various electrical designs.

     Power Suite v. 4.0
Power Suite is a generator sizing program produced by Cummins Power Systems. It helped me properly size a new generator for the North Addition to the hospital based upon the various loads it would serve.
