Depth and Breadth Proposal
   - Executive Summary
   - Breadth Proposal

The Depth and Breadth Proposal describes my proposed redesign topics in electrical, lighting, and two breadth topics. Two spaces are outlined in my lighting redesign: main lobby and registration area. My electrical redesign consists of two separate alternative distribution systems to the existing emergency power distribution system. The breadth topics will investigate the mechanical cooling impact of resizing and relocating major electrical distribution equipment and a detailed cost analyis will attempt to equate the electrical distribution alternatives in terms of cost and installation concerns.

Technical Assignment 1 (pdf 1.83 MB)
     - Executive Summary
(pdf (257 KB)

Technical Assignment 1 examines the existing lighting systems installed throughout the North Addition project. AGI32 was used to render key spaces throughout the design. ASHRAE 90.1 standards were used to determine power density requirements for spaces and whether or not current designs met those standards.

Technical Assignment 2 (pdf 8.2 MB)
     - Executive Summary (pdf 261 KB)
     - Appendix A
(pdf 122 KB)
     - Appendix B
(pdf 7.88 MB)
     - Load Calculations
(excel 157 KB)

Tech Assignment 2 examines the existing electrical systems present in the North Addition project. More specifically, the emergency electrical system is closely examined. NEC load calculations are performed for distribution, lighting, receptacle, and equipment panels for all three of the project's emergency branches.

Technical Assignment 3
     - Preliminary Lighting Schematic Design

Tech Assignment 3 addresses a schematic design approach to lighting the four spaces outlined in the proposal located above. The proposal will be presented to various lighting designers and revised before a final Lighting Proposal is formulated.
