AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

Through completion of the Architectural Engineering Senior Thesis experience I have gained a wealth of knowledge and developed contacts in industry that would not have been possible otherwise. The fall semester consists of getting to know the thesis building through technical reports followed by a spring semester of research into the construction industry and technical anaylses where we are able to put engineering knowledge from years past to use on a real project. The contacts gained through consulattion with industry members and members of the project team proived useful insight into the problems and potential solutions to issues both with the construction industry and my particiular project. The senior thesis experience was a useful one and will allow me an easier transistion into industry upon graduation.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

Constructing and updating the CPEP site was easier than expected with little website experience but has proved to be an easy and efficient way to compile and present materials. The provided templates allowed students to create sites of the same format but allowed for additional creativity in layouts and color schemes. The discussion board provided us with a great resource of contacts from various areas of industry. I was impressed at the speed and completeness of responses of the discussion board members.
