“Note: While great efforts have been taken to provide accurate and complete information on the pages of CPEP, please be aware that the information contained herewith is considered a work‐in‐progress for this thesis project. Modifications and changes related to the original building designs and construction methodologies for this senior thesis project are solely the interpretation of Hamad Alrahmani. Changes and discrepancies in no way imply that the original design contained errors or was flawed. Differing assumptions, code references, requirements, and methodologies have been incorporated into this thesis project; therefore, investigation results may vary from the original design.”

Senior Thesis Course Reflection:

Senior thesis course was an exceptionally challenging experience for me. The course requires a fifth year Architectural Engineering student to use many of the things learned over the years in Penn State, plus understanding new concepts and ideas from the project that the student is working on, and applying all of that into the project.

Time management was one of the major requirements to accomplish a good standing in the class. I had a problem with time management at first, but have learned to get more in conrol. Responsibility, motivation, creativity, and other skills have developed through the course and will help me enter my first job with more confidence and understanding.

Starting CPEP was another challenge in this course. Creating and designing a website was not an easy task to do. I am glad I had the opportunity to learn how to create an active website and I will definitely use the knowledge to create other websites in the future. Uploading all thesis material on CPEP and having them available for anyone at anytime is very useful and turned out to be a more effective way to submit the requirements.

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web-based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year-long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
