ARCHITECTURE

Architecture: The building is a wood structure clad in brick and vinyl siding. It is a traditional apartment-style complex with an overall rectangular shape and the floor plan broken down into individual sections from there.

Building Envelope: The typical envelope of the building is created by 2x6 @ 16" O.C. studded walls. The two different finishes of brick or siding are added outside of this framing. There are also 8" CMU walls at the stair walls. The roof is constructed of asphalt fiberglass reinforced roof shingles.

PRIMARY ENGINEERING SYSTEMS

Electrical: The building is powered by (2) 1000A 208/120V meter centers fed by utility company transformer secondary service. The power is then fed into the 600A main distribution panel. It is then distributed into 150A 208/120V unit panel feeders.

Mechanical: Air supplied by (2) Greenheck units supplying 12,500 CFM housed in the garage floor. The air is distributed through 1000-1400 CFM ducts in the foyer and then distributed to smaller ducts branching off to supply the individual rooms. The majority of the units are equipped with 800-1600 CFM air handling units.

Structural: The building's foundation is constructed of spread footings arranged in an approximate 20x22 grid. Extending up from the footings are steel columns which support a beam-girder floor grid under a 4.5" thick concrete slab on 2" 22 gauge composite metal deck. Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) walls are used at the elevator core and stairwells of the building. The second through fourth floors are framed with 2x4 and 2x6 Spruce-Pine-Fir No. 2 grade studs. The floor deck is composed of 3/4" APA rated tongue and groove sheathing covering 18" deep pre-engineered floor trusses at 24" on center. The roof is framed with pre-engineered wood roof trusses spaced at 24" on center maximum. Valley set truss overframing as well as 2x6 @ 24" o.c. overframing is used where required.

Fire Protection: The construction is to have 1-hr. fire protection for the structural frame, bearing walls, floor construction, and roof construction.

Transportation: The building's core consists of an elevator lobby with (2) passenger elevators. Two staircases at either end of the main corridor also aid in the building's transportation system.
