Welcome to Chris Shelow's AE Senior Thesis e-Portfolio
Final Report
This report investigates an alternative design of the Koshland Integrated
Natural Science Center (KINSC). The proposed steel framed design was directly
compared to the existing design of precast concrete. As a construction management
breadth study, the two systems were compared in terms of total cost of the
structural system as well as construction duration of each structural system.
Also, a mechanical breadth study on the two structural systems was conducted
comparing the thermal resistance through the temperature-controlled laboratory
floors.
