Depth Work: Structural

This thesis project will focus on a redesign of the structural system for the current S&T Bank Corporate Headquarters. Currently the building utilizes a steel frame building with a non-composite deck set on joists for the floor system. The proposed system is a Two-Way Flat Slab system, with drop panels. For this research report two other aspects of the building design will be addressed, as seen below.

Breadth Work A: Construction Management

A detailed cost analysis of the alternative structural system is presented using R.S. Means cost data and MC^2. Also erection time for the proposed system is also shown using R.S. Means and Primavera. The proposed system is then compared to the existing system to determine which system is more economical.

Breadth Work B: Lighting Redesign

A redesign of the Lighting system in a particualr room is performed. The existing system is graphically represented using IES. Issues that will make the lighting scheme betterare addressed and a new rendering is presented.
