Tim Moore
Tim hails from the coastal town of Fairfield, CT where
he attended Fairfield High School. After high school Tim attended Pennsylvania
State University, and is currently enrolled in his fifth year of the
Architectural Engineering
Program with a focus in structural design. He is currently planning on graduating
in May 2006 with his Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering as
well as two minors, one in Architectural Studies and the other in Engineering
Mechanics. Having passed the FE exam, Tim is looking forward to working
towards his PE.
To further his knowledge of the engineering profession Tim has completed
two internships. One of them was with S.B.E.
Construction, a construction management firm from Fairfield. Through
this experience he has gained a better understanding of how to design more
efficient structural connections and the interaction between the various
trades involved in the completion of a building. The other Internship was
with McLaren Engineering
Group. During this internship Tim was able to see the importance of
communication between all the people involved in a project and how easy
it is for ideas and information to get mixed up or neglected no matter how
crucial they may be.
Outside of the classroom, Tim is an active member of a number of clubs and
associations. Those activities include the Student
Red Cross, the Student Structural Engineers Association, Phi Alpha Epsilon
(a national architectural engineering honor society), and the Nittany
Divers. Tim holds officer positions as the secretary and pledge master
in SSEA and PAE, respectively. Tim also helps teach the basic scuba class
that the Nittany Divers offer each semester.
