Technical Assignment 1

Full Report  |  Executive Summary

Technical Report 1 investigates the existing structural system. It describes what structural systems are used for the foundation, columns, floor systems, and lateral system. The building codes and design standards are established as well as the required gravity and lateral loads. The systems' designs are then checked under the required loads set forth by the codes and standards.

Technical Assignment 2

Full Report  |  Executive Summary

Technical Report 2 is a comparison between a variety of floor system alternatives. These systems, alternative to the steel joist framing that is used as the primary floor system in 'Erie on the Park,' are evaluated based on their constructability, material and labor costs, ceiling to floor thickness, fire rating, suscepibility to vibrations, and weight of the system.

Technical Assignment 3

Full Report  |  Executive Summary

Technical Report 3 is an analysis of the main lateral load resisting system that exists in 'Erie on the Park.' The steel lateral braces and the concrete shears walls are analysed under both wind and seismic loading cases for shear and axial forces, overturning moments, and story drift.
