Executive Summary
DEPTH - The mechanical redesign proposes to replace the existing VAV units with a combination DOAS and radiant cooling panel system. Direct-fire absorption chillers will also be compared to electric centrifugal chiller to determine which would be best suited for the chilled water plant.
Proposed Mechanical Depth
BREADTH 1 - The electrical breadth proposes to resize any feeders, branch circuits, over current protection devices, and panel boards due to the change in mechanical equipment requirements.
Proposed Electrical Breadth
BREADTH 2 - The construction breadth proposes to provide a detailed first cost estimate for the VAV and DOAS systems as well as the two chiller options. This will help put into perspective which system is overall the most attractive without ignoring first costs and schedule implications.
