      REFLECTION

      Senior Thesis Reflection

The Senior Thesis Project facilitated an in-depth evaluation of the design, planning and construction of the Office Building project.  The technical assignments that took place throughout the fall semester promoted a comprehensive process of  understanding of the "as-is" aspects of the building.  This process encouraged students to ask questions about the original building designs and the manner in which these designs were implemented in the field.  This set the stage for the spring semester, where these questions were modified into depth and breadth analyses that determined the feasibility and benefit of the proposed design and construction alterations.  Although this process took place over the course of an entire year, it taught me how to critical evaluate an aspect of a design or construction techniques, and the manner in which to effectively develop alternative approaches to these aspects and issues.

      CPEP Reflection

The Capstone E-Portfolio is a very effective tool for showcasing the efforts and processes associated with the completion of the Architectural Engineering Program's Senior Thesis Project.  The comprehensive nature of the documentation is perfect for providing future students as well as current faculty and industry members a useful resource for further understanding the connotations of the project.
