~ Final Report ~

The following report is both a summary and conclusion to all of the Fall 2004/Spring 2005 research and analysis work done on the Montgomery County Conference Center and Hotel (MCCCH). A chiller plant optimization study was performed for the MCCCH central chilling/heating plant. Many different central cooling plant combinations and solutions, including thermal ice storage, were studied. Building energy analysis programs (specifically, Carrier's Hourly Analysis Program (HAP)) were used to simulate the building's operation under all of the various plant arrangements. These programs also assisted in all of the economic calculations for the mechanical system redesign. Studies on the building's electrical system, lighting system, and construction management were also performed. Below are links to the individual sections of the report. All files are in PDF format. The complete report is available at the end.
