AE 481W/482 Course Reflection

I found both classes interesting and beneficial in many different aspects. For the first class (481W), which was taken in the fall semester, I would say that this was the time that I used to gather much of my 'base' information. The technical reports and proposal were all spread out evenly and constantly kept me on track. There were a lot of tedious assignments, but in the end there were large pieces of information that could be (in)directly used for the final presentation. This class met more often than the 482 class, but for good reasons. First off, for 482, which is more of a concentration on the topics for the presentation, it gave me more time to develop my topics and to put forth the appropriate time. This 'freedom' of class schedule gave me more of an opportunity to guage my own time and set my own deadlines.

CPEP & Discussion Board Reflection

I think that having the student's progress posted online was an excellent idea. The fact that one can post the website address on a resume or at the footer of an email so that potential employers may view one's progress/culmination of work is a very impressive feature. Besides this, the process for setting it up was not difficult at all. I believe that having a fellow peer leading the process and being available to help out was very beneficial.

The discussion board was another impressive feature. It gave the students a chance to get advice/opinions from industry professionals at the click of a mouse. Having this feature as a gateway to communicate with professionals that tackle the actual problems in the real world, was an exceptional tool.
