Welcome to Caitlin Ferrell's AE Senior Thesis e-Portfolio
Thesis Abstract
Executive Summary
The Erie Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel is an eleven story hotel
and conference center on the waterfront of the Presque Isle Bay in Erie,
Pennsylvania. This 132,000 sq. ft. hotel provides tremendous views of the
bay and is in a perfect location to enjoy all that the area of West Dobbins
Landing has to offer. This structural steel building with pre-cast concrete
plank floors provides a great opportunity to investigate the design of a
steel building. The site of the building also presents a challenge due to
the unstable soil conditions of the waterfront property. View my abstract
