Welcome to Caitlin Ferrell's AE Senior Thesis e-Portfolio
The Depth Work of my thesis includes
the study and design of a staggered truss system. In addition, two floor
systems were designed to see the impacts they have on the design of the
staggered truss system: hollow core precast plank floors, and steel joist
with metal deck and slab. The Breadth Work of my thesis is a study of the
use of a lake source geothermal heat pump and its affect on the cost for
electricity. Also, an analysis of the acoustics between two adjacent guestrooms
was completed in order to confirm that there is an acceptable noise reduction
level in between guestrooms.
