Mark's Bio'

Resume

Mark Miller is currently in his fifth year of the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University, with a focus in the Lighting/Electrical Option. He will graduate in December of 2006 with both a Bachelor and Master of Architectural Engineering. The Lighting/Electrical option has worked out well for Mark. The lighting side allows him the freedom to express his creativity and embellish his artistic notions, while the electrical side provides a more technical aspect. Both the lighting and electrical areas have a clear methodological design approach, both of which allow Mark to express himself. An internship at Leach Wallace Associates gave Mark a better understanding of the Electrical Design approach to building systems. Interaction with both electrical and mechanical engineers exposed Mark to real design situations and the importance of teamwork and communication among fellow engineers, architects, building owners, and the like.

Mark participates in the student chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society, and is also a member of SSAE - Student Society of Architectural Engineering, and IALD - International Association of Lighting Designers. In his free time, Mark enjoys playing golf, basketball, as well as snow and water skiing.

Mark recently passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam in the spring of 2005. He plans on pursuing his Professional Engineering License after graduating.
