Chris Voros

Chris is a fifth-year construction management student in the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State.  He is scheduled to graduate in May of 2007, and will begin employment as an Assistant Project Manager with DAVIS Construction in June.

His first real-world experience in constructi0n came in the summer of 2005, when he interned with Pulte Homes in southeastern Pennsylvania.  There he acted as an Assistant Superintendent on a large home development that featured both single dwellings and townhouses.  It was an excellent opportunity which helped to hone his business skills and expand on his construction knowledge.

The following summer, Chris obtained an internship with the Gilbane Building Company in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  There he worked as an Assistant Office Engineer on three concurrent projects at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  Chris quickly became an integral member of the project team, requiring little training before taking over key responsibilities.  In addition to reviewing, correcting, and processing submittals, Chris found himself performing a number of duties for the three projects, each at different stages of construction.  It is here that Chris participated in procurement activities for the Cancer Institute, and decided to make it his building of focus for the year-long Capstone thesis project.

Aside from his classwork at Penn State, Chris is an active member of his fraternity, Phi Sigma Kappa.  He joined the organization in the fall of his freshman year, and has since taken on key leadership roles, including chapter representative to the National Convention in 2005.  Other fraternity duties and activities have included caterer, homecoming chair, THON committee, and the soccer, football, and golf teams.  Chris is also a member of S:PACE, the Student Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence.  These organizations have greatly helped to shape his leadership skills that will be essential for success as his construction career begins.
