AE 481W/482 Course Reflection
This fifth year in the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State has been a highly rewarding experience. The senior thesis produced over the course of these two semesters is by far the most substantial and demanding project of our college careers. However, in the end we have something to show for it, a final product that we can take pride in and display to our family and friends.
The structure of these two classes, which went from strict deadlines to a more independent setup over the course of the year, helped assimilate us to the professional world that soon awaits. Allowing us freedom in our reports enabled more of a creative style, and in the end it instilled confidence in our individual work. However, perhaps more importantly is the fact that throughout this project, students made the necessary transition in mindset from school to career. Contacts were made, communication skills were developed and a level of professional integrity grew that together will allow us to go into the real world and make a positive impact in the industry.
