Todd Erdley is president and chief executive officer of Videon Central, Inc., in State College, PA. Videon develops and customizes media products for customers in a wide range of industries.

When Erdley founded Videon in 1997, the market for DVD was expanding rapidly. Through partnerships with major silicon vendors, Erdley led Videon in the development of high-quality digital video products. The company quickly became the industry leader for DVD and later Blu-ray Disc software.

In 2012, Erdley took the company in a new direction, which resulted in Videon becoming a leader in streaming, playback, and management of personal media on smart devices. Videon’s software technology, Avia, has more than three million users and was one of the first released with support for Google Chromecast. The same technology that powers Avia has gone into new product lines for a wide range of markets. Under Erdley’s leadership, Videon continues expanding into new markets and has been named multiple times to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Erdley is active in the Central Pennsylvania entrepreneurial community, mentoring others and helping them grow their own businesses. In 2009, he formed the Centre Region Entrepreneur Network to foster networking and sharing of best practices. Today the network has hundreds of members and is a foundational part of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Erdley’s support of local entrepreneurship also extends to 3B33, an initiative he began to increase private sector growth in the region.

Erdley’s awards and honors include Ernst & Young’s Technology Entrepreneur of the Year (2002), the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County’s Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award (2005 and 2013), and the Governor’s ImPAct Award (2014).

Erdley is a proud native of Centre County and has served on the boards of numerous local non-profit organizations.

A Penn State alumnus, Erdley earned both a B.S. and an M.S. in electrical engineering in 1986 and 1992, respectively. He served on the College of Engineering’s Industrial and Professional Advisory Council for six years and received the College’s Outstanding Engineering Alumni Award in 2007.
