Technical Assignments

Technical Report 1 / Executive Summary

This report is an analysis of the existing structure. Entailed within it are calculations of wind and seismic loads, and analyation of multiple parts of the structure based on these and the gravity loads present on the structure.

Technical Report 2 / Executive Summary

Contained within this report is an analysis of a variety of floor structures. These floors are being looked at as possible replacements into my thesis building. I examined pre-case conrete planks, concrete joists, concrete skip-joists, steel framing, and composite steel framing. The conclusion is a decision of which systems should be firther explored.

Technical Report 3 / Executive Summary

This report is an in depth analysis of the lateral load resisting system. This building make suse of an array of eight (8) shear walls to resist these loads. In order to analyze these members I both utilized the hand calculations that were presented in Report 1 and obtained results from a model of the structure that I built in ETABS. The analysis resulted in confirmation that all of the members handily carry the loads imposed upon them.
