Proposal
The redesign of the CDRH Laboratory will include changing the the stuctural system from cast-in-place concrete to a steel system. The new stuctural system will be designed with special conciderations of virbation on the floor system and the lateral bracing. There will also be breadth studies completed on the cost and duration of the building to find which system is the most economic, as well as on the architecture of the building to see how appropriate a more traditional facade would be in order to have greater continuity throughout the FDA campus.

Breadth Proposal 1 - Constuction Management
Breadth Proposal 2 - Architectural
Technical Assignment 1 - Structural Concepts and Existing Structural Conditions
Technical Assignment 1 is comprised of an overall view of the one-way pan-joist systems and other stuctural elements found within the FDA CDRH laboratory. It also covers the loads found throughout the building and how these loads effect the overall stucture. Finally, the report looks at what the engineer used compared to what I designed under the conditions that are defined in this report.

Technical Assignment 2 - Pro-Con Structural Study of Alternative Floor Systems
Technical Assignment 2 is comprised of a description of the current floor system, which is then compared with 5 alternative floor systems. Each alternative floor system was analyzed with all pertinent information used in a comparision between itself, the other alternatives, and the current system, to find which alternatives are suitable for the FDA-CDRH laboratory, and which system is the most viable for the laboratory.
Technical Assignment 2 (Full Report)
Technical Assignment 3 - Lateral System Analysis and Confirmation Design
Technical Assignment 3 is comprised of a continued look at the stuctural system of the FDA-CDRH Laboratory, as in technical assignment 1. Technical Assignment 3 takes a deeper look into the lateral system of the Laboratory, as well as an understanding of alternative systems of analysis avalible. Finally, it looks at how a buildings shape, and the materials used in constuction play a key role in the lateral system that can be used, the a lateral loads that are the main factors in these lateral conditions, and the transfer of these loads to the entire building.
