Eligibility and Application Requirements
The program’s projects are suitable for students majoring in:
- Engineering
- Biology or related field
- Computer science
- Climate science
- Environmental science
- Environmental studies
- Sociology
Eligibility
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program (with preference to upper division students) in the United States
- United State citizen or permanent resident
- Knowledge of computer programming and Spanish is desirable but not necessary
Application
Applications are no longer accepted.
To access the IRES application, interested applicants must have a Penn State Access Account. If you are not a current Penn State student, visit accounts.psu.edu and follow the prompts to create your account.
Applicants must submit:
- Résumé or CV
- Transcript
- A statement detailing relevant academic/professional experiences and interest in this program (one page maximum, 12-point font, 1" margins, single-spaced)
- Names and email addresses of two references who will be contacted later in the process
- All items listed above must be submitted in one single PDF file
