Researcher or Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering - CEARL

The Computational Electromagnetics and Antennas Research Lab (CEARL) of the Department of Electrical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly qualified individual for a non-tenure-line position at the rank of Researcher or Assistant Research Professor. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating projects and managing the production lab within CEARL.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the position will be assisting the mechanical development of cutting-edge research programs, including antenna design and mechanical simulation, as well as the preparation of reports for relevant sponsored contracts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in funded projects that will seek to develop advanced and transformative technologies in electromagnetics.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate projects and manage the production lab.

  • Assist in proposal writing.

  • Prepare project reports.

  • Oversee and manage projects.

  • Develop and implement project timelines, as well as ensure deliverables, deadlines, goals, and objectives of projects are met.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Candidates will be considered for the rank commensurate with their education and experience in accordance with AC21.

The successful candidate must have a master's degree in mechanical engineering or related field by the appointment start date. In addition, they must have working knowledge of SolidWorks and be proficient in the creation and critical review of engineering drawings, tolerancing, and tolerance analysis. United States Citizenship is required. Industrial experience is preferred.
