First-Year Student Programs
Multicultural Engineering Program Orientation
Jump into college life with MEPO, a four-day experience created for incoming multicultural engineering students. You’ll build a strong foundation through academic prep, an engineering design challenge, and hands-on activities. Join a nationally recognized program built to empower and support women in engineering. WEPO is a four-day orientation full of mentoring, workshops, networking, and team-building activities—all designed to help you thrive. You’ll meet inspiring peers and professionals, explore the engineering field, and start college with a community that’s got your back. EON is a one-day student-led initiative that helps first-year students transition to University Park. Through peer mentorship, networking events, and professional development opportunities, EON fosters connections and supports your success throughout your first year. Learn more »
Engineering Summer Bridge
Get a head start with this six-week, immersive program focused on strengthening your skills in math, science, and engineering. You’ll gain early access to campus resources, work with faculty and mentors, and take on collaborative projects. Summer Bridge builds your confidence and connects you to a supportive community before the semester even starts.

Jump Start
This four-week virtual summer program is designed to boost your math and physics skills before you arrive at University Park. Choose from focused coursework in MATH 141 or PHYSICS 212, join collaborative study groups, and attend weekly seminars to build confidence and momentum. Learn more »
Student Transition Engineering Program at University Park
Led by student chapters of national organizations, STEP-UP offers a fun and engaging way to transition to University Park.
