Scholar Eligibility
Selection as an AMP scholar requires admittance into one of the college’s thesis-based master’s programs plus:
- Unmet financial need
- Low-income status
- Domestic status (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, non-citizen admitted as a refugee, or non-citizen admitted as a permanent resident)
- At least half-time enrollment as a graduate student
Students who were eligible for the following programs as an undergraduate, may be eligible for AMP: Federal Pell Grants, Federal TRIO programs (such as Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement, Upward Bound, Talent Search, Student Support Services, Educational Opportunity Centers), or the A. James Clark Scholars Program at Penn State or other universities. Participation in any of these undergraduate programs is not required to become an AMP scholar.
