Engineering Design and Innovation Building
Home to the Learning Factory and the School of Engineering Design and Innovation, the Engineering Design and Innovation (EDI) Building opened in 2023.
Situated between the Leonhard Building, home of the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, and the Earth and Engineering Sciences Building, home of the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics, EDI has helped transform the educational experience for engineering students as part of college's West Campus expansion.
Across five levels of maker and collaboration spaces, the 105,000-square-foot building includes the tools and equipment students need to bring their ideas to life. EDI is also home to a three-story structural engineering high-bay research lab that features one of the country’s largest, singular concrete-poured strong walls.
"Current and future students who study and use the Engineering Design and Innovation Building will continue to be among the most sought-after talent among employers. I look forward to the breakthroughs and achievements that this and future generations will create here.”
